Jhaz > The Saguaros are Watching Note: the final print will not be this bright. The picture has been adjusted to yield the best print results versus the best results for a monitor. The final picture will look like this (assuming your monitor is properly adjusted).This picture makes an excellent 16" x 20" print. If the picture will be behind glass, I recommend a matte print. For an 8" x 10" print, there is a 1/16" white border. For a 16" x 20" print, there is a 1/8" white border. There are no markings on the print. Jhaz > The Saguaros are Watching A lightning strike during a heavy thundershower silhouettes a number of saguaro cacti near Saguaro National Park west on June 23, 2005. This was near the end of a great day of taking lightning pictures. Numerous thundershowers were active all around me and kept re-forming in the same places, making it easy to take pictures! This storm was the third to form to my west and was the only storm to survive the trip across a broad valley to where I was. This picture was taken from inside a vehicle and it's pure luck that it came out at all. Canon 20D, Tamron 28-75mm at 28mm, ISO 100, f/10.0, 3 second exposure.

Jhaz > Golf-Tee Thundershower This picture was taken late in the monsoon, as it was winding down for the year. The thundershower built rapidly over the Tucson Mountains as the sun was setting. However, the upper level steering winds were very weak, which is why it has such a symmetrical shape. This picture was taken from northwest Tucson looking south towards the Tucson Mountains on August 28, 2003. Canon Powershot G2, ISO 50, f/5.6, 1/8 second exposure.
Jhaz > Marana Lightning Composition 2 Two pictures, taken within a minute of each other, have been combined to produce the effect of a longer exposure for this very active storm. This thundershower occurred during what would normally be a very dry time of year, many weeks before the monsoon would even start. Taken from the southwestern foothills of the Tortolita Mountains on May 28, 2005. Each picture: Canon 20D, Tamron 28-75mm at 75mm, ISO 200, and f/9. One picture is a two second exposure and the other a seven second exposure.
